The Somewhere Between
Three years ago when I came up with the crazy idea for this trip I knew that I didn't want to do it alone. Having someone with you to carry some tools, help with repairs, and bail you out of prison is always a good idea when embarking on grand adventures. When trying to decide which one of my friends would be foolish enough to join me there was really only one choice, Jason Dalsgaard.
Initially it took some convincing but once I passed him a copy of "Two Wheels Through Terror" by Glen Heggstad and forced him to binge watch "The Long Way Round" he was hooked. Jason started devouring ride reports and blogs, possibly because he was trying to avoid doing homework. We worked together to finish our Mechanical Engineering Degrees while simultaneously planning this trip and preparing our bikes for the journey.
